Already used for many years to treat kidney stones, shock waves have found increasing application in the orthopaedic and rehabilitation fields over the last decade. Recently, their therapeutic potential has also crossed the frontiers of regenerative medicine, with new and interesting applications, some still partly experimental. The aim of this course is to present an overview of the technology and methodology of this therapy. The intervention of specialists in the field will provide a complete and exhaustive picture of the subject from the classical aspects to the review of the main protocols for the treatment of musculoskeletal affections, up to the rehabilitation and functional problems of the integumentary apparatus.
