What is the difference between Resistive mode and CApacitive mode?
The Tecar current flows more through the resistive or the capacitive parts of the body according to its frequency. In Resistive maode, the low frequency current passes more through the resistive parts of the body (joints, ligaments, tendons and bone). Resistive mode concentrates the energy mainly upon the ‘hard’ tissues such as joints, ligaments, tendons and bone. In CApacitive mode, the higher frequency current flows more through the capacitive parts of the body (muscles and areas with high liquid content). In Capacitive mode, is it necessary to use the insulated plate / applicator?

The resin covered / insulated plate is a plate covered in a suitable material which increases impedence. The flow of Tecar current through the resin / insulated plate causes an increase in the temperature of the plate, due to the Joule effect, which is proportional to the thickness of the covering and depends on the type of installation used. This changes the thermal sensation of the treatment, but does not modify the way in which the Tecar current interacts with the biological tissues and the way in which energy is concentrated depending upon frequency. Finally, being a further impedance positioned between the device and biological tissues, due to the Joule effect there is a loss of power / energy which is dissipated in the plate, and not released on the relevant biological tissues.
